Our self guided version of our popular Sardinia Costa Verde mountain bike holiday in Italy.

Equipped with detailed road books, and maps you have a few days to explore the delights of this part of this gorgeous Italian island, with the option each day of rewarding yourself with a swim or relaxing back at the accommodation.

There are lots of mountain biking options each day from speedy twisting singletracks to the coast, picturesque wooded trails and remote mountain passes which will excite and enthuse riders, whatever their level.

Your time on the bike will see you exploring remote mining villages winding along rugged coastlines to fishing villages, surrounded by emerald blue seas with many of the rides finishing at the beach. Our initial biking base nestling in the mountains is a family-run agriturismo farm, producing wine, organic vegetables and mouthwatering pasta.

From here you will explore the network of superb trails and singletrack that link old mining villages and that have now become Sardinia’s most prestigious mountain biking destination.

Moving to the coast mid-week, our accommodation is a charming hotel and is an ideal setting for the second part of our holiday.

With sun terraces overlooking uninterrupted coastal and mountain views, and yet only a stones throw from the long sandy beach of Portixeddu it really is a great place post ride.

The last few days take us back inland to explore the network of fantastic trails around Fulminimaggiore; an unforgettable end to your time in Sardinia.

A lovely place to place mountain bike holiday in Italy, that alternates between dirt tracks and quiet asphalt roads, steep climbs and thrilling descents.

This is a journey deep into the heart of Sardinia, requiring a reasonable level of fitness rather than technical ability.

Starting near Montevecchio, at the agriturismo famous for its delicious home made pasta, we set off east taking us past an ever changing landscape of olive groves and vineyards, lush green oak woods and into breathtaking wilderness mountain scenery.

The holiday culminates with a lovely descent through the mountains of Supramonte to the stunning emerald green Orosei Gulf.

After a richly deserved swim and spot of relaxation, time to celebrate our great adventure. With many little restaurants and pizzerias overlooking the beach, there is no better way to finish our adventure than enjoying another superb meal, sipping wine and watching the stars twinkle over the Med.

If you can’t find a date to suit or want to go it alone, there is a self-guided mountain bike option and a self guided road option too.

We book all the accommodation, take you to the start point from the airport, transfer your luggage and then provide you with routes and itinerary for the trails.

The detailed road books and maps take you along a route that combines undulating country lanes, coastal roads, with plenty of time to explore, whilst the luggage is transferred for you from place to place. A coastal self guided road cycling holiday in Italy, and to the island of Sardinia. Famed as Italy’s most exotic island, Sardinia is blessed with a fantastic network of well-surfaced and car-free roads and you’ll be assured of some great cycling during your time here. The island has a stunning coastline which we will explore during the Coastal Explorer cycling tour. Starting in the north of the island, our journey takes us along the high rising limestone cliffs of Capo Caccia and through the lush cork oak-forested Mt. Ferru mountains. The route then follows a coastline of sandy beaches, emerald green waters and jaw-dropping ocean views taking us all the way to the southern point of the island. It's not all about the cycling though. Sardinia is steeped in history and our route offers the possibility to stop and visit ancient sites, Roman baths, Carthaginian settlements and rural churches.
