This hike starts from the charming beach of Cartoe.
From here, in a few minutes, we reach the path that goes up Mount Irveri.
We walk surrounded by the Mediterranean maquis with its many secular juniper trees.
We arrive in a locality called "Sa Tintura", where we can admire a Pinnetto (ancestral sheepfold) with its unique technique of construction: a circular stone base and a conical cover built with branches of juniper; the shepherd bears witness to the time when the shepherds practiced transhumance, moving with the herds to follow the seasonal pastures.
From there, the view is superb: you can admire the Gulf of Orosei, from Punta Nera in the north, to Capo di Monte Santu to the south.
After a few minutes of rest, we go back down to the beach of Cartoe where we can take a refreshing swim in the crystalline sea.
